Price:€ 9000.00
I have reduced the price to make a quick sale
If its not sold soon I will start the restoration by using a coach building company here in Ireland
This is a Very Rare Daimler and a worthwhile project I bought this Limo 15years ago and intended to restore it
I have reduced the asking price to encourage a quick sale and I would like to hear of any realistic offers
The brief details are it was fully restored in the UK as a Promotion Car for a Dublin Business at a cost of £20,000 that was in addition to the purchase price it was driven into storage and the warehouse burnt down and the fire from the roof fell on the car the car was not burnt but was badly scorched damaged "the body that is" not the mechanics
It needs a distributer cap and new points to drive again has 2 spare wheels that fit over the running boards all the glass which is straight glass needs replacing
most of the work needed is body work
The back doors open from the center pillar as in suicide doors
I have inspected the center pillars and they seem strong also the roof main frame that goes all around the top over the pillars all the aluminium panels seem to be good also but the front wings are not good so would probably need a lot of remaking near the bottom where they meet the running boards,
I can stand on the side running boards and they seem strong
I have all the doors and side engine panels and 2 spare wheels they are not shown in the photo, I have received 3 offers so far for this car - you may make an offer as I will have this Daimler running and driving before this listing ends
I would like to add that it is possibly not the original engine I have no information to confirm or deny this, I have tried to get a chassis number from the car and I can see a Brass plate on the bulkhead but there is no number except lots of patent numbers
the Irish Log book going with the Car is "31 D 1" and I will have the chassis number in a few days
I have been told that it is possibly a 1928 Daimler Double Six stretched Limo Shooting Brake,This has been said to me by a curator of a well know UK Car Museum and as I see the photo that I have now added of a restored 1928 Double Six the back doors open the same way and also the side engine panels have the same design - even though the Irish Log Book states 1931 as described in the Reg Number- I have also added a photo of a 1922 Limo that is on ebay for £185,000 it is the Green photo which is the same length and also looks the same car even the grill is the same and also has a small rear window so the mystery deepens,I will try now shortly get to the bottom of this limo
As I do not know the value of this car I am leaving it to anyone interested to make an offer which I can consider whether to accept or decline
I have a few more photos just taken and I can send them to you if you
